MEDIEVALME

MedievalMe is an educational digital multiplayer escape room for secondary school students, which combines heritage and science. In teams, students solve puzzles via smartphones. The game promotes physical interdisciplinary collaboration and critical thinking skills, with minimal preparation for teachers. Smartphones turn from a distraction into a powerful learning tool that brings heritage to life.

Game Description
The Middle Ages were not as dark and uncivilized as many people think. Between 500 and 1500 AD there was plenty of philosophy, poetry, and illustration. But how do you get today’s secondary school students enthusiastic about this heritage? We’ve come up with something: the serious game MedievalMe, which transforms the classroom into a medieval escape room.

The goal of MedievalMe is to make heritage and science accessible and meaningful for young people. Smartphones play a positive role in the classroom. Students aged 13–15 can solve the game’s historical and scientific puzzles on their devices through collaboration and problem-solving.

The game is fully self-guided: teams are formed automatically and the smartboard keeps the entire class engaged. It requires minimal preparation from teachers. Students literally put their smartphones together to solve puzzles, stimulating physical interaction. For schools that prefer not to use smartphones, the game is fully responsive and playable on tablets or Chromebooks.

MedievalMe directly aligns with the core objectives of secondary education, as defined by SLO, and encourages interdisciplinary thinking. The game ensures that heritage and art are not only digitized but also actively experienced.

Privacy is paramount: we don’t track, store, or collect anything, and we use no cookies or trackers. 100% safe, worry-free.

MedievalMe changes the way technology is used in the classroom. Our disruptive approach shows that smartphones can actively contribute to learning, collaboration, and deeper engagement with the subject matter.
