About

Mission & Vision

The Dutch Game Awards aims to promote, highlight and celebrate Dutch games, its 575(+) game companies, its 3800+ professionals, and educational institutes and students.

The Dutch Game Awards are an acknowledgement of creativity, skill and business insight of the dutch game developers. The Awards will be handed out to game companies and entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves (inter-)nationally the past year.

Background

The Dutch Game Awards was founded in 2007, and was organized by ImproVive for 10 years. After a 4 year break, the Dutch Games association continued the organization of the Awards in 2021.

With a fresh start came a fresh look! With a new logo, new team and updated Award categories we revamped the annual event while keeping the spirit of the original Dutch Game Awards alive.

Practical

The Dutch Game Awards 2024 will take place on October 3rd at Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid in Hilversum, and will feature an evening filled with networking opportunities. The entire ceremony will be live-streamed as well.

This 2024 edition has a total of 9 regular awards + 4 special awards (by nomination only). Nominees and winners will be chosen by a dedicated jury of experts from the game industry. This jury will soon be published online.

Dutch Game Day

Control Conference is back under a new name: Dutch Game Day powered by Control! It will be held on October 3 at Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld & Geluid in Hilversum, and will be part of Dutch Media Week.

Dutch Game Day powered by Control is a conference with two tracks of national and international speakers. They will share the ins and outs of the developments of their games, or share more personal stories.

The Dutch Game Day is a collaboration between Dutch Media Week, Dutch Games Association and Control. Control is responsible for the conference program. Dutch Media Week will take care of integrating the day into their program, and will also arrange the practical matters and connections with the broader media landscape. The Dutch Games Association will manage the whole day.
