The game teaches players the benefits of synchromodal planning being applied to large scale container transportation. By pushing players out of their comfort zones, they must resort to smarter means of planning using real life scenarios and options.
Originally developed for professional planners by TNO and Monkeybizniz, the game has now been further developed and released as a teaching tool in schools.
Best Applied Game Design: Synchromania is a game where the tension is tangible - heated discussions between team mates caused by the stress lead to new insights and better understanding of synchromodal planning. It has proved to work so well that it has been upscaled to a teaching tool.

Best Co-Production: Based on the initial paper prototype /excel sheet by TNO, Monkeybizniz developed this into the game it is right now. The balanced process of user testing, development, and design and iterating between the phases, made the game into what it is now. Keeping the process fluid and open but always concrete through user feedback, allowed us to later on expand the collaboration with the TU Twente and Self Made Miracle.
