Presented in pixel art and set in a future post-apocalyptic setting, Convoy is a squad based tactical roguelike-like in its core. You travel with your combat vehicles and convoy across a wasteland to find parts needed to repair your broken spaceship. During your journey you will encounter strangers in randomized scenarios by picking up radio signals.
Depending on the choices you make, signals can either lead to tactical combat, text based dialogue or chance based role-play. Whatever choice you make, you need to keep your convoy and its cargo safe from raiders, privateers and other enemies. Keep upgrading your vehicles, as death is permanent in Convoy.
Best Core Entertainment Game
We think Convoy deserves the Best Core Entertainment Game award because all its features combined make for a really fun game with lots of challenges and replay value. The tactical combat is often tense and hectic, while traversing the overworld map provides a more relaxed experience. This combined with large branching dialogue options (over 300 scenarios with more than 150k words!) and meaningful choice, as well as unlockable and customizable units with special abilities makes for a really fun game.

Best Entertainment Game Design
A car chase as the backdrop for tactical combat makes for a unique gameplay experience. Will you ram your enemies into cliffs, or hammer them with lead from your machine guns? Use your MCV's special abilities to stun, blast and melt your enemies. Activate shields and repair drones to aid your own units. Meanwhile you have to make sure you dodge mines and other obstacles! You can always pause the game and take some time to study the battlefield, or just catch a breath.
But, though nearly a game on its own, the tactical combat is only half of Convoy. The other half takes place on the world map. You need to find 4 (random) parts for your spaceship. In order to get them you need to talk to people and often help them so they help you. Or you could just shoot them (Though they'll probably shoot back)... These interaction happen through dialogue where everything you say can, and often will, lead to a whole unique branch of interaction, with, depending on your choices, good or bad consequences for your convoy.

Best Music & Audio
Featuring a full length album of chilled out ambient tracks and upbeat electronic music, the Convoy soundtrack will surely put you in the right mood for some action.
During gameplay, the music will change to the appropriate track for the environment. On the overworld, these are chilled out ambient tunes, yet when the bullets start flying, the music changes accordingly by adding a more intense beat to the ambient track and putting you in the right mood.
Aside from the OST, Convoy also features some intense, raw, sound effects. Due to a slight variation in pitch each time a sound is played, gunshots and explosions feel real and intense. Oh, and we have also recorded 5 different voices for the convoy's drivers who will give you feedback on every order you give them.

When we came up with Convoy in the summer of 2013, we had planned to spend around 6 months on the project to spice up our portfolio whilst we finished our Game Design school. Those 6 months passed very quickly and when we showed the game at a local meeting we attracted the attention of a publisher. The project wasn't where we wanted it to be, yet, and so we spent another year working on the game. In November 2014 we launched a Kickstarter for €10k. We ended up with more than double that! In April 2015 Convoy launched on Steam. Within the first week it sold nearly 10.000 copies and now, after 2 months on Steam, Humble and GOG, Convoy has grossed around €250k!
