The epic sci-fi thriller game of Edge of Tomorrow unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world.
Sticky developed a web and mobile game to promote the film in which the battlefield changes daily, creating unique combat situations. Once players die, they are respawned and all events occur exactly as they did before. The goal is to anticipate previous mistakes and act based on this knowledge.
The game features an advanced system where weapons are unlocked and upgraded by gaining experience points. Rita can be unlocked as a character by sharing Live. Die. Repeat. on social media.

In order to transform the concept of 'Live. Die. Repeat' (the protagonist dies and 'resets' being a soldier in battle) into a game that doesn't frustrate, we created a system where the battlefield is randomised and 'set' each day. Random events are recorded and played back on subsequent tries, adding 'spawn points' to make sure the user doesn't have to start all over. By remembering the events that occured before, the player aims to defeat the aliens with the least amount of respawns possible. This provides a unique take to the FPS genre and really ties into the film's concept. By resetting the battlefield daily, adding support HD video recording during gameplay, sharing images of your most 'awesome moves', unlocking Rita by sharing on Facebook and including an XP system unlocking new weapons, we increased player retention and the virality of the game. The game is optimized to run on 3 platforms, where we carefully designed a control scheme that is catered towards mobile and web individually.
